image of a newspaper    Hmmm time for an update

Heya all.

Yes i have been slack for the last 8 months but for very good reason. I have been both working and studying at uni and now I only have to worry about the former and not the later. Why you ask? It is because I have finally finished Uni @ CSU in Albury after 4 long years. In amongst that time I have been doing a number of things which included working the loadout shift at work which ment getting up a 2:50 AM to start work at 4 AM. Thank god that is over as I now have a full time job up in the office as an IT Support Officer as my official title.

More to come as I can think of it!

Cheers

image of a newspaper    General Update

Yeah I know... It's half way though April and now I have to rememeber what I did last month. But I will manage to do it.

Haven't seen much of my brother over the last month or so but have been talking to him lots on the phone. Have almost saved enough to buy my first car and have been re-elected to run the steam train for the Apex club for the next 12 months from july when we have our handover dinner. Not much of anything else has been going on besides Uni and Work.

Have just recieved a copy of a BF1942 Mod called Desert Combat, this is totally awesome mod and highly recommend playing it. It's a 21st Centery mod so you can drive Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles, and fly apaches, A-10 Warthogs, AC-130 gunships and more when you play as coalition forces on the Desert Combat maps, plus drive and fly most of the opposition forces stuff as well. For the moment that is all but I may think of something else later on.

image of a newspaper    Feburary Update

Might start to do a monthly update thingy when I remember.

Still working and now saving for my first car hopefully. The LAN got cancelled cause admins had to work and such, those who registered would have got an email 'bout this.

Uni starts back on the 24th Feb, and this will be my last year and then out to look for a job.

Mainly I have been catching up on sleep during the weekends and some as well when I get home from work. It's a bit of a killer when you start at either 4 or 6:30am and some days (like today) finish at 3pm.

image of a newspaper    The Year 2003

Well it has been a while. Suppose that is kinda an understatement as well since it has been about 8 months since my last update. What have I been upto you ask? Well it goes like this:

In mid September I had to go to Wagga to do a residential school for a subject at uni. The res school is actually a part of a Cisco academy program that is ran through Charles Sturt University. We covered basic router setup and it was tested by dividing up the room in half and such. Poo, you could have done this in five minutes WITH your eyes closed. I couldn't do it that easy but the res school was a waste of time with not much of anything else cisco related happening.

During October I was kinda busy like with assignments and stuff and built a website with a working Javascript login and a database lookup for each customer with their own custom login/home page. It must have been ok cause I passed the subject. Here you go if you want to have a look Red Hot Transport. This link may not work all depending on what the uni has been upto over the summer break.

I visited Wagga again to visit the botanical gardens on the first weekend in November and it wasn't to look at the flowers. Those who are interested in Miniture Railways (the kind you ride, not the tabletop kind), Wagga hosts an annual train show with trains running over 5 and 7 1/4 inch track, that was on the Saturday. Then on the Sunday, I ran the Apex Train down in Bangerang Park like I do on the first Sunday on each month weather permitting. Then I had some exams in mid-November and passed 3 out of 4 again! Put my name down for some jobs at the end of the month.

Didn't do much for new year but I got a Canon IXUS v2 digital camera for Christmas, which is the same as what Poo and Ginna use at work because it is a very good camera. I got it through a mate of mine who runs his own computer business for a lot less than anyone esle could do. Then until this week, helped mum out with the housework whilst she was at work. This week I had an interview, medical and started a casual job all in the same week for the same job. They don't mess around much when they need more workers. Thats more or less what I have been upto for the last for the last 6 months or more. Oh and my little Bro is organising a LAN in Corowa on the first weekend in Feb. Details can be found at BLAM and look for Corowa on the right hand side of the page. Thats about it.

image of a newspaper    Hockey update and stuff

It has been a while so i thought i would share some things with the rest of you. Was on a hat-trick the other week when the team fronted up on a fine Sunday at about lunch time in Albury on AHC2 to play against the top team Norths. To summorise, we got flogged again and I didn't get my hat-trick. If you were wondering, the hat-trick was two goals in two weeks playing hockey in the 2nd division and this year being the first year I have played 2nd division, I thought this was pretty good.

My 21st was a small success at the start of August and was the third 21st in 3 weeks so I was kept busy on those Saturday nights!

Ordered Trainz Paint Shed last Tuesday. Started working on another website for a subject at uni, it is based on a fictional transport company.

Oh and before I forget, during my holiday's which start on Friday (6/9), I have to go to a compulsory residential school in Wagga for a subject called Internetworking and i get to play with a Cisco router!!!!! It is about time the uni let us, the students, do something practical for once. Another thing was that I went to the snow the other weekend and tried snowboarding for something different and found it rather difficult and from the way my body felt for the next few days, it found it difficult too. Anyways that is enough for now.

image of a newspaper    The Weekend.....

Went and saw Minority Report of Friday night and enjoyed it. i thought the end of the movie was a bit soft but the CG in the movie was pretty good and loved the hover-craft like cars.

Saturday i worked in the morning till about 2pm washing trucks like usual. Now get this, if you think backing a 6x4 trailer is difficult then you got nothin on my skillz !! At the end of work i got the job of recoupling a B-Double truck back together and this is not for the faint hearted !! Imagine it like this, you put the 6x4 trailer on your car and then attach to the end of that another trailer that is twice as long and then back them in a straight line WITHOUT using you rearview mirror !! it is not easy !

That night i watched Oceans 11 on DVD and thought it a very good movie as well, it kind of leaves you confused at the end as to who do what during the heist but a couple of rewatches would soon fix that.

Sunday morning, i tried to reconfigure my little brothers linux box so that the other computers could see the webserver but with no success (note: the computers can ping each other) so if anyone has any ideas let me know and when he is home next i will check it out. Sunday afternoon consisted of being beat at hockey again but held the other team to only 4 goals even though we only had 9 players and they had a full team of 11. we still managed to score a goal of a penalty flick after the final siren to loose 4-1. found out that another relative died yesterday so another funeral this week possibly. thats enought for now.

image of a newspaper    A Really Big Appology..........

As it say's above. sorry if you have wasted your time in the last 3 months checking for updates, i just haven't go around to it. it also had to do something with my computer lacking the interest to connect to the internet (read it don't work any more :( ).

A lot has been going on which also included starting my 3rd year at uni. it isn't my last so don't ask !! i also got more results today and they were very favourable with myself FINALLY passing MGT100 and getting a credit in Server Admin and Maintainance (ITC333).

Managment was a wakeup with the quality of the first year students (ie. women) very very good.........

A the moment i am finishing my 3rd week of work and have been kept fairly busy there. suppose thats enough for now unless i think of something else in the meantime.

Oh i remember..... I'm going to see Minority Report tonight at about 9:20. all reports so far say it is a good movie, but i will find out tonight how accurate these are !
